A Cat Being Raised by Wild Dogs
By Meristide Sadique
Prolog -
A kitten stretches out, first thing in the morning and looks around at her family. Dogs, the lot of them, they are her family. She is a blank slate and learns to dig like a dog and to go to the bathroom like them, all the habits of another species. She doesn't learn to clean herself or prowl or hunt or meow. When she is old enough, the itch hits and she leaves her pack. She thinks she is ready. This kitten is people friendly... But she was never house broken, never learned manners or anything.
She stepped into the world and was shaken to her core. It was scary and unknown and nothing like she imagined. She didn't know how to do anything or how to care for herself. Luckily she had a friend who was another creature of some kind and they helped her find a path in life. She met her chosen family as she grew older and argued and fought reality a lot. People held a mirror to her and told her she was a cat. She growled and would lash out that she wasn't, she was a dog... A wild dog... That was how she was raised. She was shown literature on how a cat worked and lived and how dogs acted and lived and she was dumb founded. This poor lost kitty had to raise herself again by herself as an adult. I was born as a kitty and raised by wild dogs.
